Globel has recognised a unique opportunity to provide their retailers with a new and better way of stocking Globel pre-paid airtime. Globel opens the door for the consumer to have access to a POS device that supplies a range of virtual lifestyle products. Retailers can now use the bank acquiring terminal to generate additional revenues without incurring additional overheads with regards to stock holding, stock management or internal systems/controls.

These new Vending terminals are supplied by Ingenico (the world's leading terminal brand) and are bank certified, with multi-application functionality. This means that various products (see below) can be loaded onto the teminal and it has a banking application that accepts both credit and debit cards. The Ingenico terminal has been selected as the preferred terminal for FNB. Ingenico is the only terminal authorised to run banking and non-banking applications on one terminal.

Products envisaged for the terminal include:

Prepaid Airtime Vouchers, Lotto tickets, Event Ticketing, Interactive Advertising, Utility Payments, Third Party Payments, Insurance products, Loyalty & Fun products and Prepaid Wellness/Health Vouchers.

The 5300 (below left) is the terminal of choice that we roll out to our retail merchants.

We do have a wireless terminal (below right) that has integrated GPRS capabilities. At this stage this is quite pricey and there is a locally developed system available that is more cost effective. The wireless terminals are currently being rolled out to our larger merchants that typically have large plant environments and experience communication difficulties.

 

 

 

 

A web based vending solutions available (see image below) for customers who wish to sell virtual airtime, without having the risk of theft, courier fees & never running out of stock. Globel's web vending solution is free & can be tailored to your specific needs. Customers currently using the solution are American Express foreign exchange outlet and Imali Exress foreign exchange outlets. This system can be tailored for Travel agents and any other outlet who would not normally sell airtime.
